The Minnesota Vikings will have their hands full in Week 7 when they host the Detroit Lions. An aggressive and creative team, the Lions are second in the NFC North and can give opposing defenses fits.

Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores will have his hands full with Jared Goff and company coming off a complete dismantling of the Dallas Cowboys last week. Meanwhile, Minnesota is coming off a bye week and should be preparing for Detroit's chaotic attack.

Brian Flores gives perfect response to question about Lions offense

On Tuesday, the Vikings met with the media where Flores was asked by a reporter how he would attempt to defend against the aggressive playcalling of the Lions that the Minnesota defense will face on Sunday.

"I try to fight fire with fire. That's just me."

Flores is known for an aggressive defense with many looks that can baffle opposing offenses. Detroit's aggressive offense and Minnesota's aggressive defense could create an exceptionally interesting chess match in Week 7.

Throughout Minnesota's first five games, Flores has the Vikings defense No. 1 in point differential (+63), No. 1 in interceptions (11), No. 1 in rushing touchdowns allowed (1), and No. 3 in points against (76).

On the other hand, the Lions are No. 4 in quarterback rating (107.6), second in plays of 40 yards or more (6), No. 8 in rush yards (789), and tied for fourth in rushing touchdowns (9). This unit should be the greatest challenge for Minnesota's defense yet.

Detroit boasts an offense with a strong run game and explosive passing attack. The Minnesota Vikings will need to bring their A-game if they hope to slow down one of the most dynamic offenses in the league.

Pressure will be on the Vikings offense to build an early lead and hopefully force the Lions to be more one-dimensional. If Detroit has the flexibility to open their playbook wide, it could be a long day for the purple and gold.

This game will play a huge role in how the NFC North shapes up. Entering Week 7, the Minnesota Vikings are on top of the division and conference with an undefeated 5-0 record. However, the Detroit Lions are hot on their heels with their only loss this season coming in a rematch from the 2023 playoffs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Detroit in Week 2.
