The start of the 2026 NFL season is still months away, but the Minnesota Vikings are doing their best to put together a team that can put together an offensive performance that isn't as disappointing as last year's effort.

For that to happen, the Vikings will need a few things to happen. One of those things is better quarterback play, which should happen with the battle between Kyler Murray and J.J. McCarthy. Another is having the offensive line healthy and ready to roll.

Minnesota is loaded with talented players on the offensive side of the ball, but it needs to put it all together. Since their defense under Brian Flores kept them in a lot of games, even an average offense would be a huge help to the purple and gold.

Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle gave a positive update on his lingering knee injury.

On Friday, NBC Sports' Josh Alper shared an article on Pro Football Talk that gave fans an update on the knee of offensive tackle Christian Darrisaw. He tore ligaments in his knee in October 2024 and has struggled to stay on the field since.

The article contained a quote from Christian Darrisaw obtained by Emily Leiker of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, and Vikings fans should be excited by what the starting left tackle had to say:

“Best it’s felt in two years,” Darrisaw said, “I’m trending in the right direction. Full motion, everything feels great.”

Darrisaw only played in seven games during the 2024 NFL season and followed that by playing 10 games in 2026. The Vikings attempted to have other players step into that starting role, but none could fill his massive shoes.

Injuries to others on the offensive line were also a major issue last season. Center Ryan Kelly, right tackle Brian O'Neill, and left guard Donovan Jackson all missed time and left the Vikings scrambling for answers to help their carousel of quarterbacks, who also had major injury issues last season.

Preparing for injuries is part of building a competitive roster, but it is hard to be prepared for situations like the Minnesota Vikings had last season, when injuries decimated so many players on the offensive side of the ball. Hopefully, Christian Darrisaw will be ready for action when the purple and gold take the field in their season opener against the Green Bay Packers and will be able to suit up for the entire 2026 NFL season.
