Minnesota Vikings fans watching the 2026 NFL Draft at home on Saturday likely did their best Jim Halpert from "The Office" awkward face impression after seeing that the Cleveland Browns used the 149th overall pick in the fifth round to select Justin Jefferson.

Wait, what? Justin Jefferson?

Yes, Justin Jefferson. But not that Justin Jefferson.

Instead, the Jefferson the Browns ended up with is a 223-pound linebacker who spent the majority of his college career at Alabama. No word on if he does The Griddy after sacks or not, though.

Is there a chance that we could see Jefferson covering Jefferson out on the field next season? Unfortunately, no, since Cleveland isn't on Minnesota's 2026 schedule.

A matchup between the Vikings and Browns would have to take place during next season's Super Bowl, and the chances of that happening are almost underground, especially for a Cleveland team that hasn't played in a conference championship since 1989.

Of course, the Browns' selection of the Jefferson who plays linebacker immediately created a great opportunity for some epic reactions online, and people didn't disappoint.

Thankfully, Minnesota's All-Pro wide receiver isn't going anywhere anytime soon, so Vikings fans don't have to worry about that actually happening before the start of next season.

Instead, Jefferson will remain a significantly important part of Minnesota's attempt to get back to the playoffs in 2026. Unlike last season, however, he'll likely have a different starting quarterback throwing him passes since the Vikings signed Kyler Murray earlier this year.

Jefferson and Minnesota's trio of starting signal-callers, led by J.J. McCarthy, struggled to get on the same page in 2025, which led to the wide receiver having one of the least productive seasons in his NFL career with just 1,048 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

With Murray already having success in his pro career, the hope is that his arrival will help get Jefferson back to putting up superstar-level numbers for the Vikings in 2026.
