Ever since the Indianapolis Colts made the decision to fire longtime general manager Chris Ballard last Monday, fans of the Minnesota Vikings and many other teams around the NFL have been wondering if the Colts are going to move on from some of their most notable players before this season's trade deadline on November 10th.
Jonathan Taylor is among the Indianapolis players who could possibly be on the move following the firing of Ballard, and Vikings fans are hoping their team ends up as the eventual landing spot for the star running back.
Well, Vikings fans were given a little more hope for a trade for Taylor actually happening when ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Media's Ian Rapoport mentioned on Sunday that Minnesota is one of four teams that have reportedly "pondered, or are expected to consider, the possibility of a trade" for the Colts' rusher.

In addition to the Vikings, the report from Schefter and Rapoport mentioned the Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, and Seattle Seahawks as the three other teams that could make an attempt to acquire Taylor from Indianapolis in the near future.
With Josh Jacobs returning to the field this week, it doesn't make much sense for the Packers to trade for Taylor, so Minnesota fans shouldn't have to worry about that happening.
As for the Broncos and Seahawks, though, both feel like legitimate possible landing spots for the Colts' top running back. Both Denver and Seattle are among the worst rushing teams in the NFL this season, in terms of expected points added from running the ball, and Taylor could be a solution for one of them.
The need being greater for the Broncos and Seahawks is something that might leave Minnesota on the outside looking in when it comes to a trade for Taylor.
The Vikings already have a solid backfield with Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason leading the way, so it's not like they're desperate for an All-Pro-level running back at this moment.
Yes, Taylor would be an upgrade over any running back currently on Minnesota's roster. But what it would take to acquire him in a trade with Indianapolis might not be worth it for the Vikings at this moment in time.
