Just when we thought the Minnesota Vikings were pretty much done being involved in the Aaron Rodgers rumors, the team's general manager didn't do much to help them disappear on Wednesday.

Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah spoke to the local Twin Cities media on Wednesday, and he revealed whether or not Minnesota has expressed any interest in bringing in Rodgers this offseason.

"I'll only say it's our job as a personnel group to make sure we're aware of every potential option. We're trying to make sure we [have solutions] for scenarios that we don't know could possibly happen.

...For me to sit here and say that anything's 100 percent forever, that's just not the job, right? We're responding to scenarios and different information as it comes. Obviously, things can change, but right now we're really happy with our room and we'll look to upgrade it in different ways. But for now, we're really excited."

Minnesota Vikings clearly keeping the door open for a potential Aaron Rodgers signing

As much as most Vikings fans would have like Adofo-Mensah to step up to the podium and fully commit to J.J. McCarthy as the team's new No. 1 quarterback, it's understandable why they haven't yet.

Whether people like it or not, McCarthy still has a lot of questions surrounding him at this point in the offseason. He's never started under center for a regular-season game and he just missed the entire 2024 campaign with a knee injury.

Now, Adofo-Mensah did make sure to emphasize that the hope is still that McCarthy will ultimately emerge as QB1 for Minnesota at some point before the start of the 2025 season.

"That's the outcome we want and that's the outcome we're headed towards."

Unfortunately, it makes sense that Minnesota isn't fully committed to McCarthy yet (even he understands). He will have a chance to make an impression on the Vikings during the next few months, and by training camp, the team's quarterback situation should be much clearer.
