This year's Minnesota Vikings cornerback room is a bit crowded with a couple of veterans in Byron Murphy Jr., Isaiah Rodgers, and Jeff Okudah. But there is another guy in Minnesota's cornerback room who is trying to make a name for himself and make the team's final 53-man roster.

His name is Dwight McGlothern, and he was signed by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Arkansas in 2024. McGlothern made a few plays in the preseason last year, but at training camp so far this summer, he has really been opening some eyes and making fans excited to watch him possibly make the team.

McGlothern has been coming up with several memorable moments this year, and had another great day at camp on Wednesday, as he added a third interception to his camp total and is really looking like a stud.

Minnesota Vikings can use all the help they could get at the cornerback position

Knowing that Mekhi Blackmon is still working his way back from a serious knee injury last year combined with the uncertainty of Okudah and whether or not he can really resurrect his career in Minnesota, Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores could really use McGlothern in 2025.

Sure, the kid was undrafted, but there is a reason that Minnesota decided to pick him up as a UDFA and give him a chance. He has the traits that a team looks for in a solid corner: good hands, stays with his man, and impressive footspeed.

And the fact that he has three interceptions in back-to-back-to-back days of Vikings training camp really says something about his chances of making the final roster.

Right now, in training camp, McGlothern is opening up some eyes as he impresses Flores and his defensive staff day after day. Moving forward, he'll need to put the work he is putting in during training camp into Minnesota's preseason games in the near future.

Not a lot of the starters on either side of the ball play much during the preseason, and that bodes well for McGlothern's chances of playing a lot in the exhibition contests to prove himself.

If he can keep his play at a high level in the preseason this year, he should definitely have a role with the Vikings when the regular season approaches against the Chicago Bears in Week 1 on "Monday Night Football".
