The quarterback position must be addressed by the Minnesota Vikings this offseason. Whether or not fans still believe in J.J. McCarthy to be the team's quarterback of the future, depth and competition are needed to ensure higher quality play during the 2026 NFL season.

There is plenty of debate as to what the Vikings should try to accomplish at quarterback. The team has two major paths they could take: bring in a veteran to start while McCarthy sits and learns, or acquire a high-level backup to push the young passer and provide a stable backup.

Multiple analysts have given their input on what they feel Minnesota should do, but only time will tell what the franchise chooses to be the best path forward to not only be competitive in 2026 but also prepare for the future.

ESPN's Dan Orlovsky has an interesting list of quarterbacks who he feels would be a great fit for the Minnesota Vikings in 2026.

During a recent appearance on Get Up, ESPN's Dan Orlovsky shared a list ranking the three quarterbacks he believes the Minnesota Vikings should consider this offseason.

Interestingly, the analyst and former quarterback likes a lot of experience for the purple and gold. His top option for the Vikings this offseason is Aaron Rodgers, who spent last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers and led them to the playoffs.

In the second position, Orlovsky likes Minnesota to bring back Kirk Cousins after the veteran passer spent two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. A reunion makes sense, but only if the price tag is right once he is released and he is still a good fit for Kevin O'Connell's offense.

Finally, in the third spot, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is a polarizing player, but he might thrive with the talent on Minnesota's roster and the combination of coaching with the positive environment that the Vikings promote.

Dan Orlovsy makes it clear that he still supports J.J. McCarthy. Bringing in a veteran for a year or two might not be the worst thing for the young quarterback's development. But a younger passer like Anthony Richardson could raise a red flag about the Vikings' belief in McCarthy's long-term value.

It is possible that one of these three quarterbacks could end up with the Minnesota Vikings during the 2026 NFL season. Fans are sure to have their preferences, but it will all come down to who the front office and staff believe is the best fit for the team.
