During the last few weeks, right guard Ed Ingram has proven to be the worst Minnesota Vikings starting offensive lineman for the third straight season.

Ingram has allowed more pressures than any other Vikings player in the team's six games this year, and his current PFF pass-blocking grade also ranks last among all Minnesota players.

Thankfully, the first Vikings injury report for Week 8 has revealed that the team might be getting some much-needed offensive line help in the near future. Ingram's starting job might even be in potential danger this week, depending on how fed up Minnesota is with him following his latest poor performance in Week 7.

First Minnesota Vikings injury report for Week 8 vs. the Los Angeles Rams reveals Dalton Risner is close to returning

Now, the Vikings didn't conduct an actual practice on Monday, but they did put out an injury report since their next game is on Thursday, so the practice participation levels for Monday were only an estimate.

As one can see from the graphic shared above, the Vikings listed veteran offensive lineman Dalton Risner as a full participant on Monday's injury report. Risner has been on Minnesota's injured reserve list for all six of the team's games this season, but that could be coming to an end shortly.

If he's able to get a legitimate full practice in on Tuesday or Wednesday, then it wouldn't be shocking if the Vikings added him to their active roster before Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Rams.

And while Risner might be activated for this week's matchup, that doesn't mean that he's going to immediately replace Ingram as Minnesota's starting right guard. The Vikings might want to wait until after Thursday's contest to try someone else out at right guard, as they will have some extra time to prepare before the team's Week 9 game against the Indianapolis Colts.

So, it will definitely be interesting to see how much of a participant Risner will be on Tuesday when Minnesota conducts an actual practice.
