Former Vikings All-Pro the victim of tremendous disrespect once again

During the first seven years of his NFL career, former Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman Kevin Williams was selected as a First-Team All-Pro five times. Williams is one of only six defensive players during the Super Bowl era (since 1966) to earn at least five First-Team All-Pro selections in his first seven seasons in the league.

For whatever reason, however, this apparently isn't enough to earn the former Minnesota defender any serious consideration for a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

On Wednesday, 25 modern-era semi-finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2025 were revealed, and Williams wasn't among those selected. He'll now have to wait another year to see if he'll be deemed worthy of making the semi-final round of the Pro Football Hall of Fame selection process.

Unfortunately, Williams has continued to not receive the recognition he deserves from the Pro Football Hall of Fame voters. However, one of his former Minnesota teammates still has a shot to represent the franchise in the 2025 class.

Unlike Williams, former Vikings All-Pro defensive end Jared Allen actually was among the 25 semi-finalists who were announced on Wednesday. This is the fifth year in a row that Allen has been selected as a semi-finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and he went on to be a finalist in each of the previous four years as well.

Of the 25 former players to make it to the semi-final round of the voting process, former Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly is the only one who accumulated more First-Team All-Pro selections in his NFL career (five) than Allen, who earned four during his time in the league.

So, will this finally be the year that results in the former Minnesota pass rusher getting his gold jacket from the Pro Football Hall of Fame?
