In the world of the Minnesota Vikings, Laquon Treadwell will go down as one of the biggest NFL Draft disappointments in the history of the franchise. For Treadwell, however, his career in the league has been anything but disappointing.
Treadwell parted with the Vikings after the 2019 campaign, and on Friday, he signed a new contract with the Indianapolis Colts to potentially play in his 11th NFL season.
This is the third straight year that Minnesota's 2016 first-round draft pick has signed a deal with the Colts, as he first got an opportunity with the team during their 2024 training camp.

Despite still being listed as a wide receiver, Treadwell actually hasn't caught a pass in an NFL regular-season game since 2023, when he was a member of the Baltimore Ravens.
Instead, his impact recently has been made mostly on special teams. In 2025, Treadwell appeared in 10 games with Indianapolis, and 80 percent of his total snaps came with the special teams unit.
During those 10 appearances, he logged eight total tackles, and that was good enough to earn him the second-best special teams grade from PFF among all Colts wide receivers in 2025.
During an interview with Colts.com last year, Treadwell shared how he's been able to make the adjustment to being mostly a special teams player in the last few seasons.
"Just being grateful. [Having] gratitude [for] the opportunity to even be on the team [and] to be in the NFL.
...Everybody wants to score touchdowns. Everybody does. There's not one guy on special teams that doesn't want to get a sack [or] strip-fumble. But once you realize that it's still an opportunity there, you can live in gratitude about that and be grateful."
Since Treadwell's time with the Vikings came to an end in 2020, he's had stints with the Colts, Ravens, Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals, and Seattle Seahawks.
During his 10 years in the NFL, he's accumulated a total of 111 catches for 1,242 yards and five touchdowns, in addition to racking up 13 tackles.
Treadwell was one of four wide receivers selected in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, and he is the only one from that group of four who is still in the league.
