Former Vikings QB surprisingly hints at a return to the NFL

It's a pretty wild time in the NFL. There are teams desperate to find a quarterback while others like the Minnesota Vikings are finding success with passers who didn't work out with other teams earlier in their careers.

One quarterback who had the hearts of Vikings fans was Teddy Bridgewater. When he was a first-round pick of Minnesota in the 2014 NFL Draft, he looked like he could have been the team's long-term answer at a position where they struggled for consistency.

Sadly, a freak injury sidelined Teddy Bridgewater and he never seemed to bounce back. He bounced around the league for a while until he decided to retire from the league and instead focus on becoming a coach.

Now the coach of Miami Northwestern High School football, Teddy Bridgewater hinted that his time away from the NFL might be brief. The former Louisville quarterback posted on X (formerly Twitter) about the current state of the NFL and his possible place in it.

At 32 years old, Teddy Bridgewater is definitely young enough to attempt a return to the NFL and there seems to be enough passion for the game in his blood for him to push himself to put an NFL uniform on again.

Even if Bridgewater is joking about a return to professional football after his fantastic season of coaching high school football is over, his phone still could ring because of the number of teams looking for a quarterback.

If he does have the itch to return to the NFL, his experience as a player and a coach could make him a valuable member of a team's roster, even if he isn't named his team's starting quarterback for the season.

Playing nine seasons in the NFL, Bridgewater doesn't have much to prove in a return to the league. He played in 79 games, starting 65 while completing 1,373 of his 2,067 passes for 15,120 yards and 75 touchdowns against 47 interceptions.

There could definitely be space for a return to the NFL for Teddy Bridgewater if he chooses to make a comeback. The former Minnesota Vikings quarterback is an extremely likeable player and will likely have a lot of fans rooting for him to succeed no matter what decision he makes, even if that means staying retired and continuing to coach high school football.
