Former Vikings RB ends roster musical chairs in Minnesota with recent decision

The NFL is a crazy business. Some players are drafted into the league and spend a long time with one team and earn job security through solid play. Others spend time on the fringe of rosters and live unsure of what the league will bring for them in the future.
Former Minnesota Vikings running back Myles Gaskin seemed to be on a solid track with the Miami Dolphins after being a seventh-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. After four seasons there, he spent time with the Rams and Vikings.
Gaskin has had multiple stints in Minnesota including signing to the practice squad, inking a futures deal, and being signed to the 53-man roster. However, that also means he has been released and brought back multiple times.

The Vikings' signing and release of Gaskin may have finally ended. Aaron Wilson shared on X that the former Minnesota running back has been signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars to be on their practice squad.
Myles Gaskin saw action in seven games for the Minnesota Vikings between the 2023 and 2024 seasons. However, the former University of Washington rusher only saw carries this season, running the ball three times for a loss of one yard while adding one catch for 11 yards.
Myles Gaskin was at one time a fantasy football relevant running back while in Miami, but struggled to find a role in Minnesota. The arrival of Aaron Jones and the trade for Cam Akers along with Ty Chandler at RB3 led to Gaskin seeing a lot of time on the practice squad, special teams, or on the sideline.
It will be interesting to see if he can work his way on the 53-man roster of the Jaguars or if he will be signed by another team before he gets that chance. Since he is only 27 years old, the five-foot-nine, 199-pound running back may not be a household name, but he has the potential to be a contributor in the NFL.
It's hard not to blame Gaskin for wanting to spend some time in warm weather. The difference between Minnesota and Florida in December would be a huge motivating factor for someone to want to go south for the winter. Plus, he should have a better chance of seeing the field with the Jaguars.
