By now, most Minnesota Vikings fans are tired of hearing about Aaron Rodgers. The former Green Bay Packers quarterback and New York Jets disappointment has been a common talking about for the purple and gold this offseason.

The four-time NFL MVP is a future Pro Football Hall of Fame member, but he doesn't fit the plan the Vikings have for the 2025 NFL season. However, the 41-year-old quarterback isn't done making an impact on Minnesota.

Rodgers' decision on where to sign this offseason could have an impact on the Minnesota Vikings' schedule this season and put them on the road for a game as part of the league's International Games series.

Aaron Rodgers could be a deciding factor in the Minnesota Vikings going to Ireland

It has been announced that the Pittsburgh Steelers will host an NFL game at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland in 2025. That means one of their road opponents will be the squad chosen to play them in that European matchup.

That already narrows the options to the Ravens, Browns, Bengals, Bills, Dolphins, Colts, Packers, Vikings, and Seahawks. The Star Tribune's Ben Goessling recently shed more light on those options in an article.

He states that the Packers are rumored to be the chosen opponent, but that the Steelers may want to keep that game in Pittsburgh, especially if they sign Aaron Rodgers and he plays against his former team.

That could make it a toss-up between the Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, or Seattle Seahawks. The purple and gold are no strangers to international games and playing the first game ever in Ireland would definitely be interesting.

In fact, the Vikings play three opponents this season who will take part in international games. There is a slim chance they could be chosen to open the season in Brazil against the Los Angeles Chargers and there is the possiblility of a showdown between Cleveland and Minnesota in London, even though that would be a repeat game for the European fans.

There is still some time until the schedules come out. They aren't expected until sometime in mid-May. Until then, Minnesota Vikings fans will be left wondering if the team will go to Ireland if Aaron Rodgers signs with the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason. It feels like such a minor event to cause a big ripple like that, but that's how the business of the NFL can be.
