Sunday Night Football's game between the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions is being billed as one of the biggest matchups in NFL history. The two 14-2 teams face off in prime time under the lights in Michigan with a lot on the line.

A victory at Ford Field in Week 18 would mean the Vikings win the NFC North. However, a win would also put Minnesota in the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs, ensuring them home-field advantage and a bye in the Wild Card round.

With so much on the line, it's not surprising how much emphasis is being placed on it by the teams and the media. However, the ownership of the Minnesota Vikings took things one step further to ensure some of their fans could be at Sunday night's game.

Incredible report proves why Vikings owners are among the best in the NFL

Recently, Sports Illustrated released an article revealing that the Vikings went to the secondary ticket sellers and secured approximately 1,900 tickets for the upcoming game in Detroit against the Lions on Sunday.

Albert Breer shared the article on his X account, adding that nearly $2 million was spent to acquire those seats to have a presence at the game. What they did with those tickets was extremely interesting.

The SI article states that an email was sent out to Vikings season ticket holders to notify them that additional tickets became available for the game. The prices for those tickets were as little as $200 per seat, a fraction of what they go for on the secondary market.

Despite the Detroit Lions flagging the transactions and alerting the NFL about the sales, no action was taken by the league. Sports Illustrated made sure to include that the Vikings didn't break any rules in doing this and made sure some of Minnesota's most loyal fans could attend the game.

Hopefully, those tickets stay in the hands of Minnesota Vikings fans and there can be a huge presence of purple and gold at Ford Field on Sunday. Having fans there could help to make the hostile environment less of a factor in the game.

The fact the ownership of the Minnesota Vikings would go this far for their team shows a lot of passion and commitment. Expectations for the team this year were quite low, so to see the purple and gold in this position is amazing and something fans can hopefully enjoy deep into the NFL playoffs.
