Jalen Nailor might be the odd man out after Vikings draft speedy WR

With the final pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft on Friday, the Minnesota Vikings added former Maryland wide receiver Tai Felton, and veteran pass-catcher Jalen Nailor should be concerned about his future with the team.

Nailor is in the middle of his fourth year with the Vikings, but his journey to making it to the 2025 regular season in a purple and gold uniform will certainly be much harder with the team's selection of Felton on Friday.

With there being uncertainty about Jordan Addison's availability for the start of the 2025 campaign, perhaps Minnesota will keep Nailor on its roster to open the regular season. But it now won't come as a shock if the Vikings include him on their list of final cuts after the 2025 preseason.

Minnesota Vikings add speed to roster with the addition of former Maryland WR Tai Felton in the 2025 NFL Draft

While Nailor's speed is a big reason why Minnesota drafted him back in 2022, Felton is even faster. At this year's NFL Scouting Combine, the former Maryland receiver finished with a blazing 40-yard dash time of 4.37 seconds, which ranked sixth among all wide receivers at the event.

In addition to his speed, Felton made a ton of plays for the Terrapins last season. In 12 games, he was able to haul in a total of 96 passes for 1,116 yards and nine touchdowns. He's a little on the slimmer side (6-foot-2, 186 pounds), but he still managed to force 26 missed tackles last year, which ranked eighth in the nation, according to data from PFF.

With the addition of Felton, the Vikings' current wide receiver room now consists of him, Nailor, Addison, some guy named Justin Jefferson, Lucky Jackson, Jeshaun Jones, Tim Jones, Rondale Moore, and Thayer Thomas.

This might now be a year in which Minnesota keeps six receivers on its final 2025 roster, especially if Addison has sit out any portion of the beginning of next season due to a suspension.
