Minnesota Vikings fans are still on cloud nine after watching J.J. McCarthy account for three touchdowns in the fourth quarter comeback win over the Chicago Bears on Monday night. While it's only one game and that's a minimal sample size, it's okay for Vikings fans to overreact and think that their team has finally found a young quarterback who can do great things for this franchise.
After a rough three quarters to start his first true NFL season, McCarthy rebounded in a big way in the fourth and final quarter. He threw two touchdown passes to help the Vikings take the lead over the Bears and then essentially iced the game when he dashed 14 yards into the end zone, giving Minnesota a 27-17 lead and sending Bears fans to the exits.
Vikings fans weren't the only ones losing their collective minds when McCarthy broke off that touchdown run. Paul Allen, the fantastic Vikings radio play-by-play announcer, had a fantastic call that will have Vikings fans wanting to run through a wall.
"Third and one from the Bears' 14 [yard line], McCarthy out of the shotgun milking a three-point lead. It is a run-pass option. McCarthy takes off to the right, to the 10! Stutter steps to the five!
TOUCHDOWNNNNNN! HEEEEEE'S J.J. MCCARTHY!
And he runs for a Vikings touchdown! And the Minnesota Vikings after that 14-yard touchdown gallop, sending fans home here at Soldier Field."

Minnesota Vikings radio call of J.J. McCarthy’s TD run is pure all-time gold
Allen's call is perfect because it truly encapsulates how Vikings fans were feeling in that moment.
The closer McCarthy got to the end zone, the more excited the fans were, and when he officially scored the touchdown, the feeling of "Hey, this guy might actually be pretty good!" definitely ran through fans' minds.
While there's still a lot of football left to be played this season, McCarthy showed what he can do when his team's back is against the wall, and if that's the guy that comes out in the fourth quarter every week, this is going to be a lot of fun.
Hopefully, we continue to get great Paul Allen calls of J.J. McCarthy touchdowns where he shouts "HEEEEE'S J.J. MCCARTHY!" because that's just a really freaking awesome call.
