Earlier this week, the NFL revealed that Minnesota Vikings edge rusher Jonathan Greenard made its top 100 players list of 2025 and slotted him in at number 48. Placing Greenard at No. 48 in the 2025 top 100 players list seems like highway robbery with the season that Greenard just had.
Greenard's 2024 season was his first with the Vikings, as he came over in free agency in the offseason. He finished with 59 tackles, 12 sacks, and four forced fumbles. That is quite the season for a player of his caliber.
Greenard will be looking to replicate his season from 2024 if not put up even better numbers as he begins his 2025 campaign in the Vikings' first preseason matchup this Saturday against the Houston Texans.
Minnesota Vikings edge rusher Jonathan Greenard should have been ranked higher on the NFL Top 100 list
In a perfect world, Greenard should have been ranked higher in the 2025 NFL's top 100 players list. He put up a monster season on the edge as he was opposite Andrew Van Ginkel on the other side, who is also a force to be reckoned with.
What Greenard can do going into the 2025 season is he can use the low ranking that he got as motivation to put up even better numbers this season. Sure, what he did in the 2024 season was miraculous, but he can always strive for better.
Greenard is somebody who works hard and who you can tell puts in 100 percent or more every single day, every single practice, and every single game. No matter what it is, he is ready. He is somebody who can easily be motivated to get after the quarterback.
Vikings fans are the ones who truly know that he should have been ranked higher. Ranking 48th is an accomplishment, but Greenard should have been ranked higher and will strive for more in the upcoming 2025 season.
