Jordan Love shredded the Chicago Bears on Sunday, and the Minnesota Vikings should treat Green Bay’s 31-7 win as fresh evidence that the Packers still have enough quarterback firepower to become a real problem in the NFC North race.

Minnesota still owns the better position. The Vikings already banked a 39-22 Week 1 win over Green Bay, and they’re 5-0 while the Packers, Bears, and Lions sit at 3-2. A two-game lead plus the head-to-head result counts for much more than whatever power-ranking mood Monday morning produces.

He completed 25 of 31 passes for 367 yards and two touchdowns, while Christian Watson turned six catches into 143 yards and both scores. Green Bay’s defense forced five turnovers, too. For one afternoon, the Packers looked capable of punishing every mistake before Chicago could recover.

Jordan Love is why the Minnesota Vikings can’t dismiss Green Bay Packers

The Vikings have already seen the part that should stick with Brian Flores. Love threw for 387 yards and two touchdowns in the opener, including an 81-yard score to Watson. Minnesota still sacked Love four times, created enough disruption to survive the explosives, and rallied for the win. The Bears didn’t have that answer.

Chicago also gave Green Bay a far softer version of this matchup. Caleb Williams and leading rusher Kyle Monangai were out; Tyson Bagent threw for only 87 yards with two interceptions before Case Keenum replaced him, and five takeaways helped the score get away from the Bears. Calling the blowout proof that Green Bay has caught Minnesota would be skipping several steps.

Love’s ceiling is harder to shrug off. He has topped 300 passing yards three times in five starts this season, according to Love’s 2026 game log, and Watson has already burned Minnesota for two touchdowns before torching Chicago for two more. Green Bay can create chunk plays quickly enough to erase a bad series or a protection bust, especially when Watson’s speed forces safeties to stay deep.

Minnesota can enjoy its bye at 5-0. Green Bay still has to prove Sunday wasn’t mostly a depleted Bears team giving it extra possessions, and the Vikings don’t make their Nov. 15 trip to Lambeau until Week 10. If Love keeps producing explosive games before that rematch, Flores will need the pressure plan from Week 1 without giving Watson the same runway downfield.
