With a 12-2 record heading into Week 16, the Minnesota Vikings are currently one of the best teams in the NFL whether people like it or not.
All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson has been a big part of the success experienced by the Vikings this season, and recently he compared Minnesota to the 2019 LSU Tigers team that he helped win a National Championship.
While speaking to reporters on Thursday, Jefferson shared how this season's Vikings squad is similar to the LSU team that didn't lose a single game in 2019.
"Spending time with your teammates is important thing. Just building that chemistry with your teammates, the people that you go out there and battle with, that's important thing.
Even in 2019 at LSU when we won the National Championship, it was the exact same way. How the team bonded together. We did everything together. The way we hung out, the way we respected each other, and just the way we carried each other. That's definitely a important thing.
Once you get all guys on the same page and willing to do whatever to fight for one another, then everything else is going to come. The wins are going to stack, the turnovers are going to come, the big plays are going to come.
when that adversity hits, you have those guys that you rely on and that you trust to back you up at all costs. That's the championship team that you want in your building."
Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson looking forward to a battle in a hostile environment in Week 16 vs. the Seattle Seahawks
Minnesota has won seven games in a row, and if they're going to capture the No. 1 seed in the NFC for the first time since 1998, then they will likely need to extend their winning streak to 10 during the next three weeks.
In order to do that, first Jefferson and the Vikings must come out with a victory on Sunday in a tough road matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Minnesota hasn't won a game in Seattle since 2006, and the Seahawks desperately need a victory to remain in the hunt for a spot in this season's playoffs.
Over the years, Seattle's rabid fan base has turned the team's home stadium into a very hostile environment for opposing teams, and on Thursday, Jefferson talked about what the Vikings will be walking into this weekend.
"It reminds me of, like a Buffalo. Just the effect that the crowd has on the team and even us the crowd behind us. It's always tough.
I've heard plenty of stories about Seattle and their fan base and the way they come and how loud that place really is."
Hopefully, Minnesota's top receiver will be able to continue the success he's had during the last few weeks on Sunday in Seattle, as he's averaged seven catches, 101 receiving yards, and one touchdown reception in his last three games.
The Seahawks defense has allowed six opposing players to accumulate at least 100 receiving yards in a contest this season, so Jefferson will certainly be looking to become the seventh on Sunday.
