When the Minnesota Vikings announced their list of undrafted free agent signings, one name stood out to those who follow sports in the state. The signing of quarterback Max Brosmer from the University of Minnesota brought some excitement.

At the moment, the Vikings are expected to move forward with second-year passer J.J. McCarthy as their starting quarterback, with Sam Howell and Brett Rypien acting as his backups during the 2025 NFL season.

How does quarterback Max Brosmer fit with the Minnesota Vikings?

Rookie minicamp is underway for the Minnesota Vikings, and SKOR North's Judd Zulgad offered his thoughts on the play of quarterback Mox Brosmer. In the video shared on X, he discussed the day the young passer had and projected him to land on the practice squad.

This prediction is the most likely outcome. Unless Brosmer can pass Rypien on the depth chart, he will be the odd man out if Minnesota keeps three quarterbacks on the roster for the upcoming season.

Zulgad mentioned the contract he signed as an undrafted free agent. That three-year deal worth $2.975 million with a $10,000 signing bonus and $246,000 guaranteed almost assures that he will end up with the team in 2025, which makes him a strong candidate to return to the team after training camp and preseason.

The former University of Michigan quarterback did enough on the first day of rookie camp to make Zulgad feel good about his future. Even though the 24-year-old set multiple school records in 2024, he will need to have an amazing camp and preseason to move to the 53-man roster.

That's not to say that it's impossible for Brosmer to make that leap leading up to the season. As Vikings fans know well, anything can happen in the NFL and circumstances could make the undrafted rookie move up the depth chart.

Max Brosmer will have an opportunity to prove himself more during OTAs, training camp, and the preseason. The team must see potential in him to offer him that significant of a contract as an undrafted free agent, meaning general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah likely sees something in him that head coach Kevin O'Connell can work with.

Keep an eye on new Minnesota Vikings quarterback Max Brosmer leading up to the 2025 NFL season. Fans of everything Minnesota will find it easy to root for him and hopefully he can evolve into a solid depth piece for the purple and gold.
