Despite what some have attempted to report during the last few weeks, the plan for the Minnesota Vikings has always been to enter the 2025 NFL season with J.J. McCarthy as the team's starting quarterback.

Last year, McCarthy became the first quarterback to ever be selected by the Vikings with a top-10 draft pick, and now the team is going to see if he will be worth the investment they made in him.

As he prepares for the 2025 campaign, one thing Minnesota's young quarterback won't have to worry about is his teammates having confidence in him. Vikings running back Aaron Jones made that even more clear when he recently talked about the excitement he has to work with McCarthy.

Aaron Jones says Minnesota Vikings believe in J.J. McCarthy

During an appearance on "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" on Tuesday, Jones shared why Minnesota is so confident with McCarthy as the team's No. 1 quarterback.

"He's a leader already. He's a winner, he's a winner. We believe in him, and he's going to get it done for us. We're all behind him, and he comes in with that confidence as well, and [we're] excited to have him."

Jones is getting ready to enter his ninth season in the NFL, so he knows what it takes to succeed in the league. His comments about McCarthy shouldn't be taken lightly.

For anyone wondering, Jones also shared that he "didn't really" talk to free-agent quarterback and former Green Bay Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers when the Vikings were in the middle of a bunch of rumors involving the future Hall of Fame signal-caller earlier this year.

This will be the third straight season that Jones will be part of an offense switching to a new starting quarterback. In 2023, the veteran running back was on the Packers roster when they entered the regular season with Jordan Love as the team's new starting passer, and, of course, he was with Minnesota last year when they rolled with Sam Darnold as their No. 1 quarterback.

In each of these previous two seasons, Jones's teams have gone on to make the playoffs. Will the Pro Bowl running back make it 3-for-3 and help McCarthy lead the Vikings to the 2025 postseason?
