The Green Bay Packers' trading for edge rusher Micah Parsons puts the NFL on notice. The Dallas Cowboys trading a top defender in his prime to a division rival of the Minnesota Vikings could make things difficult for the purple and gold.
At times, Parsons has looked unstoppable. However, it appears as though the Vikings have a weapon already on their roster that has dealt with the threat of Green Bay's new defensive threat and thrived in that competition.
The Minnesota Vikings have a secret weapon they can use to combat new Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons.
CheeseheadTV's Aaron Nagler noted that Packers head coach Matt LaFleur talked about Parsons during a podcast a couple of years ago, but Green Bay's head coach developed a plan to help his offense.
LaFleur just alluded to something Parsons mentioned during his podcast with Jordan Love two years ago. There were a few plays in the Dallas playoff game where Parsons wrecked them up front but @Showtyme_33 saved their bacon by picking him up. Unheralded part of that big victory.

Although Aaron Jones is known for his rushing and his ability as a receiver, LaFleur tapped into the blocking skills of Aaron Jones to pick up Micah Parsons and end his reign of terror while getting to quarterback Jordan Love.
Jones, now a member of the Vikings, could be called upon by head coach Kevin O'Connell to perform a similar role when Minnesota faces the Packers in upcoming contests. That would be a huge benefit for offensive linemen who may struggle in protection against Green Bay's new dynamic pass rusher.
First-year starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy will need the help as well. Although he is surrounded by a lot of great targets, getting the ball out accurately and on time can be extremely difficult when there is a defender disrupting the process.
Players like Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, Adam Thielen, and T.J. Hockenson are all great targets for McCarthy, but getting them the ball isn't possible if J.J. McCarthy is lying on his back staring up at the sky or the roof of U.S. Bank Stadium.
This only adds more value to Aaron Jones this season and beyond. Although Minnesota picked up Jordan Mason in a trade with the San Francisco 49ers to take some of the pressure off Jones, the former Packers running back might have to see a bit more action than normal when the Vikings take on Green Bay.
The Minnesota Vikings face the Green Bay Packers twice each season. This season, the two meetings come late. The first game is on the road in Week 12, while the second meeting is a home game for the season finale. It will be interesting to see how Aaron Jones is used in those contests.
