On Tuesday, the Miami Dolphins announced a pair of new additions to their roster, one of which included former Minnesota Vikings cornerback Cameron Dantzler.
Earlier this year, Dantzler appeared in six games with the UFL's Memphis Showboats, and he clearly did enough to earn a chance at a roster spot with the Dolphins. Unfortunately, he only has a week to make a good impression in Miami, since final rosters are due next Tuesday by 3 p.m. CST.
Still, NFL teams are giving the 26-year-old cornerback opportunities again, and after his departure from the Vikings in 2023, those chances seemed like they were going to quickly disappear.

Dantzler got off to a hot start when he entered the NFL back in 2020 after Minnesota drafted him with a third-round pick. He had an impressive first offseason with the Vikings, and it ultimately led to him being named one of the team's two starting quarterbacks to begin the 2020 campaign.
Dantzler's tenure with Minnesota ended up only lasting three seasons, despite the fact that he started 26 games for the team during that time period. Looking back, the writing was definitely on the wall in his final year with the Vikings, as opposing quarterbacks had a 111.1 passer rating and a 77.4 percent completion rate when throwing the ball in his direction in 2022.
After Minnesota released Dantzler in the 2023 offseason, he went on to have short stints with the Washington Commanders, Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, and New Orleans Saints. His last appearance in an NFL game happened in Week 4 of the 2023 season when he was still a member of the Saints.
Following Dantzler's time with New Orleans, he spent a brief amount of time with the UFL's San Antonio Brahmas and CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats before ending up back in the UFL earlier this year with the Showboats.
In 35 career appearances with the Vikings, Dantzler accumulated 149 total tackles, 17 pass breakups, three interceptions, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
