Vikings coach compares new player to iconic WWE Hall of Famer

Midway through the first quarter of his team's Week 10 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars this past Sunday, Minnesota Vikings kicker John Parker Romo lined up for his first-ever field-goal attempt in an NFL game.
Romo not only converted this kick, but he wound up knocking down all four of his field-goal tries during the contest, which turned out to be all the Vikings needed to get a 12-7 victory over the Jaguars.
The performance from Minnesota's new kicker resulted in him receiving a game ball from head coach Kevin O'Connell after the matchup, and on Tuesday, Vikings special teams coordinator Matt Daniels compared him to a legendary pro wrestler.
Minnesota Vikings kicker John Parker Romo compared to WWE Hall of Famer, The Undertaker
During his weekly press conference with the local Twin Cities media on Tuesday, Daniels shared what some of the differences and similarities are between Romo and Minnesota rookie kicker Will Reichard (who is currently on injured reserve).
"Will is a stone cold killer for sure. I would say, um, I'm up here thinking wrestling, I'm thinking Stone Cold [Steve Austin], now I'm thinking [Romo is] like The Undertaker or something. Parker is looking to bury you."
For those who are unaware, The Undertaker is one of the most popular characters in the history of Pro Wrestling. He debuted in the WWE as The Undertaker in 1990, and he quickly became a fan favorite. After winning multiple championships and headlining several WrestleManias throughout his career, he officially retired from professional wrestling in 2020.
If Romo can go on to have the type of notable career that The Undertaker had in his line of work, one would imagine he would be pretty satisfied with that. But let's not get ahead of ourselves since he's only been with the Vikings for a week.
Depending on whether or not Reichard returns from injured reserve this season, Romo might only have a few more weeks left with Minnesota before they decide to go back to their top kicker. But even if his time with the Vikings truly is coming to an end in the near future, he's obviously already made a lasting impression on his current teammates and coaches in just a short period of time.
