If J.J. McCarthy is going to be successful in his first season as the starting quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings, then he's going to need to get on the same page as all the teammates who will be catching passes from him.

The Vikings don't have to report to this summer's training camp until next week, but a clip was shared online on Thursday that shows McCarthy getting in some extra practice work recently with some of Minnesota's top players, including Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockenson.

According to the caption of the post (shared by Weiss.Visuals on Instagram), McCarthy, Jefferson, Addison, Hockenson, C.J. Ham, Jordan Mason, and Blake Cashman were all in attendance for this workout session.

The star power of the players who decided to attend speaks incredible volumes about how bought in the Vikings are this year when it comes to McCarthy as their starting quarterback, and this is really how it has to be if he's going to succeed during the upcoming season.

It also shows how much of a leader Jefferson has developed into during his tenure with Minnesota. He was named a team captain last year, and the All-Pro receiver has really taken that role to heart. Maybe he had some of these thoughts in the past, but Jefferson seems to currently have the mindset of doing whatever he can to help the entire team succeed as much as possible.

Sure, he's going to want the ball to be in his hands plenty in the 2025 season, but that was going to be part of the Vikings' offensive strategy no matter what. This year, in particular, it seems like Jefferson has really taken the lead to help guide McCarthy in the right direction and build a great relationship with the young quarterback.

Will these pre-training camp throwing sessions result in more success when the regular season begins in September? We'll all have to wait to find out, but they certainly can't hurt.
