After months of anticipation, the Minnesota Vikings and the three other teams in the NFC North finally unveiled their new Nike Rivalries uniforms on Tuesday. The Vikings will wear these new uniforms for one game in the upcoming 2026 season, and that will be in Week 15 when they host the Detroit Lions inside U.S. Bank Stadium for a primetime showdown on December 20th.

While Minnesota's players seem excited to suit up in these new uniforms, reactions from the team's fanbase were varied following the official release on Tuesday.
Minnesota Vikings fans share one similar reaction to new Nike Rivalries uniform
In case anyone didn't know this (not really sure how if you're on this website), but the Vikings are not the only team in the NFL that wears a shade of purple.
Over in the AFC, of course, the Baltimore Ravens don a purple home jersey that uses a slightly darker shade of the color that Minnesota wears.
Currently, the Ravens have a "Purple Rising" alternate uniform design that features an all-purple uniform with a purple helmet that has a gold facemask.

Obviously, there are some similarities between Baltimore's "Purple Rising" helmet and Minnesota's new helmet design for their Rivalry uniforms. They're not completely identical, but that didn't stop Vikings fans from voicing their opinions online about how the two designs look alike.
"Just looked at Baltimore and said let’s copy and paste. Why not an all purple facemask? number font also sucks."
- @FullbackEnjoyer on X
"Didn’t draft Kyle Hamilton so you copied his team’s jerseys to make up for it. Smart."
- @DugsBrother on X
"Yo I can’t be the only that think these are straight ass, they are straight up just ravens jerseys."
- @thofdpw on X
"Sooooo we just copied the ravens with a diff shade off purple????"
- @BartowKilgo on X
"We don turned into the ravens lmao."
- @FFunwi on X
"ravens jerseys.
shoulda just brought back the 90s style in deep purple."

When comparing the two helmets, sure, a case can be made that the designs have several similarities. But to say the Vikings' entire Rivalry uniform design is essentially a carbon copy of the Ravens' "Purple Rising" uniform doesn't come close to being correct.
Minnesota's Rivalry uniform has multiple unique elements that separate it from the Baltimore uniform that some believe the Vikings just copied and pasted.
For one, the shade of purple on Minnesota's uniform is much darker. The Vikings also have a gold Nordic knot on their helmet, jersey sleeve, and pants. Minnesota's number font is way different than what the Ravens use on their "Purple Rising" uniform as well.
Some fans also have to think about the bigger picture. The opinions of many who might not like the Vikings' new uniform design at first glance on Tuesday will probably change in Week 15 this season when the team debuts them in an actual game, and they're accompanied by an amazing field design to match the uniform.
So, sure, Minnesota's new uniform has some similarities to Baltimore's "Purple Rising" uniform. But the Vikings' version is 1,000 times better.
