Almost a month after the conclusion of the 2025 NFL season, the Minnesota Vikings have decided to part ways with general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, according to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero on Friday.

Adofo-Mensah had been with the team since 2022 and was gearing up for a very important offseason for the Vikings. After some rumblings after the season, it seemed like Minnesota was going to keep him around for at least one more year, but the team clearly had second thoughts.

In a statement released on Friday, the Vikings revealed that the team's Executive Vice President of Football Operations, Rob Brzezinski, will be in charge of the team's front office until after the 2026 NFL Draft.

Struggles in the NFL Draft during Adofo-Mensah's tenure likely played a large role in his dismissal on Friday. Minnesota's 2022 draft class was a disaster, and the three classes after weren't much better.

It seems safe to say that the immediate success Sam Darnold has had with the Seattle Seahawks this season was also a big factor in the Vikings' decision to fire Adofo-Mensah.

Under his leadership, Minnesota decided to roll with J.J. McCarthy on a rookie contract at quarterback in 2025 instead of attempting to bring back Darnold for at least one more season after he put together an impressive performance in 2024.

It was a risk by Adofo-Mensah and a decision that ultimately blew up in the face of the Vikings since McCarthy had one of the worst rookie seasons by a quarterback in NFL history in 2025, and Darnold has led the Seahawks all the way to the Super Bowl.

There will be plenty more to come out about Adofo-Mensah's departure, but for now, Minnesota will head into the 2026 NFL Draft without a general manger leading the way.
