Harrison Smith has accomplished a lot during his tenure with the Minnesota Vikings, and Sunday's showdown against the Chicago Bears will add another milestone to his impressive career in the NFL.

When Smith steps on the field to take on the Bears this weekend, he will be playing in the 200th regular-season game of his pro career.

With this milestone, Smith will join Scott Studwell, Carl Eller, Fred Cox, Mick Tingelhoff, and Jim Marshall as the only players in NFL history to suit up for at least 200 games in a Minnesota uniform.

How much longer will Harrison Smith continue to play for the Minnesota Vikings?

Back in March, Smith decided to return to the Vikings for at least one more season. The veteran safety has been in the league since Minnesota selected him in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, and he's spent his entire pro career in purple and gold.

But Smith will be 37 in February, and this year, his "old" age has been more obvious than it has in the recent past.

At the start of the 2025 season, a personal health matter resulted in Smith not playing in a game until Week 3, and even after he returned, he wasn't on the field for more than 41 percent of the Vikings' defensive snaps until Week 7.

Heading into Sunday, Smith's PFF defensive grade currently ranks 69th out of 91 qualifying safeties around the league, which is really low since it hasn't been worse than 37th in any of his previous three seasons.

It seemed like he was getting closer to his somewhat normal form in Minnesota's first game after the bye when they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7. However, in the Vikings' most recent contest against the Baltimore Ravens this past Sunday, Smith's 38.1 PFF defensive grade was his lowest in a single game this season.

Some have wondered if this will end up being his final year with Minnesota, and based on his performance alone, it seems probable that Smith's final snaps on an NFL field will likely be played this season.
