After enjoying a well-deserved bye in Week 6, the 5-0 Minnesota Vikings will return to action on Sunday for a Week 7 matchup against the 2-4 Indianapolis Colts inside U.S. Bank Stadium.

While the Vikings didn't play a game last weekend, the Colts spent Week 6 being on the receiving end of the Tennessee Titans earning their first win of the 2026 season. Shortly after that, Indianapolis decided to fire longtime general manager Chris Ballard, so it hasn't exactly been a quiet last few days for the AFC South franchise.

Leading up to Sunday's meeting in Minnesota, we'll have all the latest injury updates for both teams (including inactives right after they're shared before kickoff), predictions from multiple national experts, what storylines to keep an eye on in the game, and much more right here.

So bookmark this page and check back throughout the next several days for everything you need to know about Sunday's matchup between the Vikings and Colts.

Biggest Vikings Storylines heading into Week 7

How will Minnesota look coming off its bye?

Two years ago, the Vikings got off to a 5-0 start, had a bye in Week 6, and then suffered losses in their first two games back in Week 7 and Week 8.

This season, Minnesota is in a similar situation, but Sunday's matchup against Indianapolis feels like a game that the Vikings should be able to win.

Despite being 5-0, some still have their concerns about Minnesota being a true contender in the NFC this year. A victory on Sunday won't completely eliminate those concerns, but it will certainly help prevent them from growing.

How badly do the Vikings want to make Daniel Jones regret his 2025 decision?

Following the 2024 season, Minnesota was fine with moving on from quarterback Sam Darnold since they believed that Daniel Jones would re-sign with the team after spending a portion of the 2024 campaign on the Vikings' practice squad.

Instead, Jones left to sign with the Colts, and Minnesota was ultimately forced to enter the 2025 season with J.J. McCarthy as the team's starting quarterback.

Despite tearing his Achilles last December, Jones played well enough for Indianapolis in 2025 to convince them to give him a brand-new two-year contract worth $88 million this past March.

The 2026 season hasn't gone well for Jones and the Colts, and now they have to face a Vikings team that likely still isn't happy that he essentially left them hanging in 2025.

Minnesota's defense already has a blitz rate over 65 percent this year, but one should expect that rate to be even higher on Sunday as they look to make Jones pay for turning them down two offseasons ago.

Will the Vikings' offense be at full strength?

What might be the most impressive part about Minnesota's 5-0 start to the year is that they've been able to do it while a number of their most notable offensive players have dealt with injuries.

So far this season, Kyler Murray, Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, Donovan Jackson, Jordan Oliver, Christian Darrisaw, and Jordan Mason have all missed at least one game due to an injury.

Unfortunately, Jackson and Oliver are lost for the year, but it seems like there's a good chance that Murray, Jefferson, Addison, Darrisaw, and Mason could all be on the field together for just the second time this season on Sunday.

Will any future Vikings be suiting up for the Colts on Sunday?

Following Indianapolis's recent decision to fire Ballard, some have wondered if they're going to be looking to unload some of their players before this year's trade deadline on November 10.

Some of the most intriguing names on the Colts' roster who could be dealt in the near future include running back Jonathan Taylor, defensive lineman DeForest Buckner, and guard Quenton Nelson.

Depending on how the next few weeks go, Minnesota could be among the teams attempting to improve its roster before the trade deadline. So for some current members of Indianapolis's roster, Sunday might not be the only time they play a game inside U.S. Bank Stadium this season.
