Rondale Moore was just lost for the entire 2025 campaign, and Jordan Addison will miss the first three games of the upcoming regular season due to a suspension, so it probably shouldn't come as a surprise that the Minnesota Vikings were recently listed as a possible landing spot for free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. by CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin.

Benjamin believes Beckham could help improve the Vikings' receiver depth, especially when Addison is out for the first three matchups of 2025.

"The Vikings are in win-now mode despite J.J. McCarthy opening the year as a total unknown under center. But their wide receiver corps isn't going to be at full speed when the season gets underway.

Even if star No. 1 Justin Jefferson returns from a hamstring injury that's kept him sidelined from practice for weeks, fellow starter Jordan Addison will miss the first three games due to suspension.

...They could use some emergency depth out wide, where youngsters like Jalen Nailor and Tai Felton could have prominent roles out of the gate."

Minnesota Vikings have multiple connections to free-agent WR Odell Beckham Jr.

In addition to the fact that Beckham could help with Minnesota's wide receiver depth at the start of the 2025 season, the veteran pass-catcher also wouldn't be entering foreign territory.

Back in 2021, Beckham was a part of a Los Angeles Rams team that wound up winning the Super Bowl. That Rams team was also where Kevin O'Connell served as the offensive coordinator before he was hired to be the Vikings' new head coach in 2022.

Beckham and Jefferson also have a bond that goes back the star Minnesota receiver's college days at LSU. Both pass-catchers have known one another for quite a while and Jefferson would probably love to have Beckham in the Vikings' locker room this year.

In November, Beckham will turn 33-years-old, so he's definitely nearing the end of his career in the NFL, whether he likes it or not. He spent the 2024 campaign with the Miami Dolphins and put together arguably the worst single-season of his pro career with just nine catches for 55 yards in nine appearances.

It's hard to imagine Beckham would cost much for Minnesota to sign, if they do end up having interest in signing him. In 2024, he signed a one-year contract with the Dolphins worth only $3 million, so if the Vikings can get him to agree to a similar amount, then it's worth at least giving him a call.
