The Minnesota Vikings entered the 2025 NFL Draft with four picks and made selections in the first and third rounds. On Day 3, the team was set to make two selections in the fifth round, and they took that opportunity to add to the roster for the upcoming year.

With their first two pick, the Vikings went offense, grabbing an offensive lineman to play guard and a wide receiver to challenge opposing defenses, The additions of Ohio State's Donovan Jackson and Maryland's Tai Felton, the offense looks good to go.

Now, Minnesota must look to other areas of the roster in the hope of building for the future and finding a player who can contribute from the later rounds of the draft. Here is how those picks worked out.

Minnesota Vikings add Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins with one fifth-round pick in 2025 NFL Draft, trade another

Fifth-Round Pick No. 1 (139th Overall)

Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins - DL (Georgia)

The Vikings finally made a selection on the defensive side of the ball, but it is a defensive lineman and not a defensive back. Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins could be considered a bit of a project after only playing 37 games at Georgia, but there is a lot to like about the athleticism and size of the pick.

At six-foot-five and around 300 pounds (depending on the source), he played in all 14 games in 2024, starting ten games, but was a reserve for a majority of his collegiate career. This was a pick based on his potential, not his production in college.

His eight tackles for a loss, including three sacks, are encouraging. The Vikings will need to take some time to develop him as a defender, but there is enough potential and intangibles to be willing to roll the dice in .

Fifth-Round Pick No. 2 Pick (172nd Overall)

Minnesota made a draft day trade to acquire their quarterback behind J.J. McCarthy on the depth chart. In that trade, they swapped pick No. 142 for pick No. 172 to acquire the rights to quarterback Sam Howell.

One more pick remains for the purple and gold in the 2025 NFL Draft, and they have yet to walk away with a defensive back. That is an interesting note about this draft so far, but it also says a lot about the confidence this team has in the players who are already on the roster.
