The Minnesota Vikings have beautiful facilities. Their stadium and practice facilities are among the highest-regarded in the league, and that means they have the capability to host some of the NFL's biggest events.
In the past, the Vikings have hosted the Super Bowl, flag football, major concerts, and other sporting events, and are always looking to bring more significant events to U.S. Bank Stadium and the surrounding areas in the Twin Cities.
The Wif family is the passionate owner of Minnesota's football team. They have always been willing to invest in the franchise and do what it takes to make the Vikings one of the best organizations in the National Football League.
Minnesota Vikings throwing their hat into the ring to host the 2028 NFL Draft
The 2026 NFL Draft is set to be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in April, but a future draft could be hosted by the Minnesota Vikings if the team's bid to host the event in 2028 is approved.
The Vikings posted on their official website that the Minnesota Sports and Events submitted a bid to host the 2028 NFL Draft in partnership with the team and U.S. Bank Stadium. Here is the statement from MNSE EVP of Business Development & Tourism Matt Meunier:
"In terms of the location of the draft, the red carpet and all the ancillary events that go with hosting the draft, all those things are under evaluation by the league right now, so it's to be determined, but what we can say is TCO Performance Center is a really viable option."
Minnesota Vikings EVP of Public Affairs Lester Bagley believes that the 2028 NFL Draft is a great fit for the Minneapolis area.
"The Vikings are vested and invested, and we will provide financial support, staff support, and organizational energy."
It isn't shocking to see the Wilf family be willing to invest in the Vikings. Their commitment to the franchise is evident in how modern and beautiful U.S. Bank Stadium and the TCO Performance Center were constructed.
Washington, D.C., has already been selected to host the 2027 NFL Draft, but it would be fantastic to see the Minnesota Vikings' bid accepted to host the 2028 NFL Draft.
Not only would it help to bring attention to the amazing facilities, but it could also help to bring a lot of people to the Minneapolis area to give a boost to the local economy.
