He isn't the owner of any notable franchise records, but Case Keenum will be forever remembered in the history of the Minnesota Vikings thanks to what he did with the team during the 2017 season.

On Sunday, Keenum will join his Chicago Bears teammates inside U.S. Bank Stadium for what could be the final appearance of his NFL career inside the building where he carved his name in Vikings history as the passer in the legendary "Minneapolis Miracle" play.

Of course, he won't be starting for the Bears this weekend; that job belongs to Caleb Williams. However, Keenum will be doing whatever he can on the sideline to help Williams lead Chicago to a win in front of a Vikings fan base that still has plenty of fond memories of the magic the veteran quarterback created in a purple uniform back in 2017.

Retirement feels likely for former Minnesota Vikings QB Case Keenum in 2026

Keenum is only under contract with the Bears until the end of the 2025 season, and since he'll be 38-years-old by the time free agency begins next March, it seems very possible that he is currently in the middle of his final NFL season.

He hasn't thrown a pass in a game yet this year for Chicago, but his on-field abilities weren't exactly the No. 1 reason why the Bears went out and signed him this past offseason.

Keenum has played a large role in the development of both Williams and fellow Chicago quarterback Tyson Bagent this year, helping them with watching film properly and improving their mechanics, among other things.

This shouldn't come as a surprise, though. Before signing with the Bears, Keenum had spent his previous few seasons in the league aiding in the development of guys like C.J. Stroud, Josh Allen, and Baker Mayfield.

Chicago likely won't need any sort of miracle on Sunday in Minnesota, but if they do, they've got just the guy who would know exactly what to do in that type of situation.
