When the Minnesota Vikings take on the Detroit Lions next season, veteran cornerback Terrion Arnold will not be taking the field.

On Monday, the Lions made the decision to release Arnold after he was arrested and charged with multiple felonies related to kidnapping and burglary last week.

Coincidentally, prior to Detroit's decision on Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter shared the news that the third-year cornerback could potentially be able to participate in the team's training camp this summer after a Tampa, Florida, court "denied the government’s request" to hold Arnold without bond and "refused to impose an ankle bracelet as a condition of bond."

Shortly after Schefter shared that news, the Lions ended any questions about Arnold's status with the team by just cutting ties with him altogether.

Arnold's arrest last week stemmed from an incident that originally took place all the way back in February.

After details of the first incident were revealed to the public, Arnold denied any involvement, and since then, police were, obviously, able to find enough evidence to connect the former Lions cornerback to the alleged crimes that took place in February.

Arnold is currently facing four charges of both kidnapping and burglary after he allegedly "[orchestrated] the abduction and beating of three men whom prosecutors believe he wrongly suspected of having stolen luxury goods and $100,000 in cash from him."

If convicted, it could result in a sentence of life in prison for the former Detroit defender.

Arnold was selected by the Lions with the 24th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after a three-year college career at the University of Alabama in which he earned multiple All-American and All-SEC honors.

During his two seasons with Detroit, he appeared in 24 games, including 22 as a starter.
