When one of the top players at their position becomes available, many teams around the NFL will be interested in acquiring their services. Sometimes those players end up landing with a rival of the Minnesota Vikings.

Seeing a rival team get better during the offseason can be frustrating, but that's exactly what a recent prediction has for a team that got the best of the Vikings on a couple of occasions during their 2024 campaign.

Minnesota Vikings rival predicted to acquire Myles Garrett before 2025 season begins

Former NFL general manager Mike Tannenbaum recently shared on Get Up that he predicts the Detroit Lions will be the team to acquire Myles Garrett this offseason to add to their stacked roster and push for another division title.

"You have (Aidan) Hutchinson coming off injury. I liked the Za'Darius Smith addition, but go get a Hall of Famer in his 20's. He may get you over the hump. If you're Cleveland rebuilding, get as many assets as you can get.""

Tennenbaum makes a great point. The former general manager of the Jets and executive vice president of football operations for the Dolphins knows that the Lions are a dangerous team. Adding a weapon like Myles Garrett would make them even more formidable.

The Cleveland Browns defensive end requested a trade from the Browns this offseason. Considering the dysfunction in that franchise, understanding why Garrett would want to play somewhere else in 2025 isn't hard to understand.

At 29 years old, the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 is coming off his seventh consecutive season with a double-digit sack total and his fifth consecutive year making All-Pro First or Second Team.

Myles Garrett would be a huge acquisition for the Detroit Lions who already have one of the most exciting pass rushers returning in 2025. The possible combination of Garrett and Aidan Hutchinson should strike fear into opposing offenses if Detroit can make it happen.

It will be interesting to see which team ends up with Myles Garrett on their roster. His consistency and elite pass rush ability make him a player who will be in incredibly high demand this offseason. The biggest question is what kind of compensation it would take a team to trade for him from the Cleveland Browns with so many offers likely coming in this offseason.
