The Minnesota Vikings hold the rights to the No. 24 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and opinions vary wildly about which prospect the team should select when they are on the clock in the first round in April.

Minnesota has some areas of their roster that could use some help. The defensive secondary is the most obvious are of need, but improving the offensive and defensive lines should be among the team's top priorities.

Having the ability to draft the best player available when they are on the clock will be a huge benefit for the Vikings. They will need that talent if they hope to come close to repeating last season's 14 wins and playoff berth.

Mock drafts are a fun way to get to know prospects and how they might fit in with a team like the Minnesota Vikings. Recently, Charles Davis shared his mock draft on NFL.com and his pick for the purple and gold is interesting.

At the No. 24 overall spot, Davis has the Vikings taking Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon. Adding talent to the trenches on defense could be huge for a unit that was solid but inconsistent at slowing down opponents.

"The Vikings will have to stop some high-powered rushing attacks in the NFC North if they're going to compete for the division title again. Harmon can help Minnesota control the line of scrimmage."

Physically, Derrick Harmon won't remind Vikings fans of John Randle. The Oregon standout is six-foot-five and 330 pounds while Randle was six-foot-one and 290 pounds. However, there is a similarity in their mentality and techniques.

Harmon's fiery, aggressive style of play will send him soaring up teams' draft boards at the 2025 NFL Draft. Although he doesn't have the numerical production of some of the other defensive tackles in the class, his potential combined with his size should make him a first round pick.

If the Minnesota Vikings are looking for a big-bodied defender to cause chaos in the trenches, Derrick Harmon could be a great fit. While other experts and analysts may have the team looking to add a cornerback, safety, or interior offensive lineman, giving defensive coordinator Brian Flores a potential stud defensive tackle makes a lot of sense for a team that is building for the future.
