After recently signing veteran guard Will Fries to a lucrative, multi-year contract, the Minnesota Vikings have reportedly decided to trade guard Ed Ingram to the Houston Texans.

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero on Thursday, the Vikings are sending Ingram to the Texans in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The move also clears up more than $3.5 million in cap space for Minnesota, according to The Athletic's Alec Lewis.

Ingram was originally selected by the Vikings in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and he went on to start at right guard in his first two seasons with the team. He experienced a notable amount of struggles during his time as a starter, and midway through the 2024 campaign, the Vikings replaced him in the starting lineup with Dalton Risner.

During the 2022 NFL Draft, Minnesota selected a total of 10 players. With Ingram's reported departure on Thursday, linebacker Brian Asamoah, running back Ty Chandler, and wide receiver Jalen Nailor are the only three members of the Vikings' 2022 draft class who are still with the team.

Minnesota has now also moved on from all three of its top three selections in the 2022 NFL Draft with Thursday's transaction, as the team had already parted with its 2022 first-round pick, safety Lewis Cine, and its other 2022 second-round selection, cornerback Andrew Booth.

The 2022 NFL Draft certainly isn't something that Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah looks back on fondly. However, Adofo-Mensah has definitely made up for the 2022 draft disaster with the magic he's been able to work in free agency and other areas during his tenure with Minnesota.
