The 2025 NFL Draft is right around the corner, and Minnesota Vikings fans are curious who the team will select with their picks. Speculation is at an all-time high with experts wondering if the purple and gold will stay put or trade out of the No. 24 overall position.

Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah hasn't been shy about making trades in the past. If the right opportunity is presented, it wouldn't be surprising to see Minnesota trade up to grab a prospect they love or trade down to acquire more picks.

A Minnesota Vikings trade with the Cleveland Browns could shake up the 2025 NFL Draft

Lately, KSTP's Darren Wolfson reported on SKOR North's "Minnesota Sports with Mackey & Judd" that the Minnesota Vikings have entered into dialogue with the Cleveland Browns about a possible trade involving the No. 24 pick.

The Browns currently own the No. 2 overall pick in the draft, but that isn't the pick that is part of the talks. Instead, it is No. 33 overall pick (the first selection in the second round) that could be on the table in the trade.

Depending on the prospects still available when Minnesota is on the clock, a trade down could make a lot of sense. Plus, the relationship between Minnesota GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and Cleveland GM Andrew Berry could make getting a deal done easier.

In the past, the Vikings liked to have a first-round pick to be able to secure a fifth-year option on their rookie contract. However, having that ability isn't necessary and could make Minnesota's pick more valuable if they don't have a prospect they feel like they must select at No. 24.

For Minnesota Vikings, this trade could make Thursday night of the draft a droll affair. Waiting all night for them to make a pick only for them to trade out of the first round could be disappointing to a lot of fans, especially those attending draft parties.

However, all will be forgiven if the Vikings can use this trade to add picks to their limited arsenal and get a quality player at No. 33 overall.

Considering the position of the Minnesota Vikings in the 2025 NFL Draft, the team has likely scouted and analyzed the possibility of multiple players being available when they are on the clock. If that is the case and several desired players are available, trading out of the first round becomes a real possibility.
