For the last four years, wide receiver Trishton Jackson has spent his NFL career going back and forth between the Minnesota Vikings practice squad and the team's active roster. Well, now Jackson is going to attempt to catch on with a different team after only accumulating a total of two catches in his tenure with the Vikings.

On Thursday, Jackson signed a reserve/futures contract with the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals' current wide receiver corps is led by the talented Marvin Harrison Jr., but the group definitely isn't as strong as the one that Minnesota had inside its locker room in 2024.

Perhaps Jackson will wind up back with the Vikings at some point in the next few months, but he clearly felt it was time to move on and see if he could land a more impactful role elsewhere.

Trishton Jackson caught the first unofficial TD from Minnesota Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy

As a practice squad guy for most of his tenure with Minnesota, the majority of Jackson's snaps with the Vikings happened during the team's preseason games each summer.

During the 2024 preseason, he managed to haul in a total of nine passes for 154 yards and three touchdowns in three appearances. Jackson was even on the receiving end of the first-ever touchdown pass thrown by Minnesota rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy this past summer.

Since the play happened during an exhibition game, it won't count as McCarthy's first official touchdown pass in the NFL. But if the Vikings quarterback ends up having an impressive pro career, Jackson will still have bragging rights as the guy who caught the young passer's first unofficial touchdown toss in the league.

Jackson first entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Syracuse. He signed a rookie contract with the Los Angeles Rams and that's where he spent his time until Minnesota signed him to its practice squad right before the start of the 2021 regular season.
