While Minnesota Vikings fans were happy that the team got a win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, plenty were concerned about rookie kicker Will Reichard suffering an injury during the matchup as well.
Reichard dealt with an injured quad throughout the contest, and on Monday, Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell revealed that the team "is still in the process of evaluating" the rookie's injury. O'Connell said Minnesota will know more later in the week if they have to sign another kicker or not.
In addition to the Reichard update, the Vikings head coach also shared that Minnesota long snapper Andrew DePaola needs surgery to repair a hand injury he suffered on Sunday and he will likely be placed on short-term injured reserve.

With DePaola expected to land on short-term reserve, the Vikings will need to sign a new long snapper in the near future since they currently don't have any backups on the team's active roster or practice squad. This will be the first time that DePaola has missed a game due to injury since joining Minnesota in the middle of the 2020 season.
As for Reichard, KSTP's Darren Wolfson reported shortly after O'Connell's presser on Monday that the team will bring in free-agent kickers for workouts on Tuesday. At the very least, the Vikings will probably sign a kicker to the team's practice squad since Reichard is currently the only kicker who is part of the organization.
Luckily, Minnesota punter and holder Ryan Wright didn't suffer any sort of injury during the win over the Colts on Sunday. However, it seems like Wright will definitely be working with some new specialists over the next few weeks while Reichard and DePaola recover from their injuries.
