After turning around his NFL career this season with the Minnesota Vikings, quarterback Sam Darnold has been voted to a Pro Bowl roster for the first time since entering the league in 2018
Darnold, along with wide receiver Justin Jefferson, outside linebackers Jonathan Greenard and Andrew Van Ginkel, cornerback Byron Murphy Jr., and long snapper Andrew DePaola, will represent the Vikings at this season's Pro Bowl Games in Orlando, Florida.
In addition to Minnesota's quarterback, Van Ginkel, Greenard, and Murphy are all first-time Pro Bowlers, and the six Vikings players picked is the highest amount that has been voted to the initial Pro Bowl roster since the team's 2009 season.
Multiple Minnesota Vikings named alternates for this season's Pro Bowl Games
Minnesota could potentially send even more players to this season's Pro Bowl Games as seven other members of the team were selected as alternates for the NFC roster.
This group of Vikings alternates includes fullback C.J. Ham (first alternate), center Garrett Bradbury (third), safety Joshua Metellus (third), tight end T.J. Hockenson (fourth), right tackle Brian O’Neill (fourth), special teamer Trent Sherfield (fourth), and defensive lineman Harrison Phillips (sixth).
Despite the high amount of Minnesota players who were voted to the initial Pro Bowl roster or selected as alternates, there are still plenty of Vikings who could be considered snubs this season, including running back Aaron Jones, safety Cam Bynum, and linebacker Blake Cashman.
The 2025 Pro Bowl Games will take place on Sunday, February 2nd, inside Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The NFC roster will be coached by former NFL quarterback Eli Manning, and the event will be broadcast on ESPN and ABC.
Of course, if Minnesota makes it to this season's Super Bowl, then no one from their roster will be taking part in the 2025 Pro Bowl Games, as they will be in the middle of preparing for something much more important instead.
