Stefon Diggs just achieved what always slipped away in Minnesota

Stefon Diggs has been in the NFL ever since he was selected in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, and thanks to the New England Patriots getting a win over the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship on Sunday, he will now get to play in the Super Bowl for the very first time in his pro career.

Diggs didn't put up monster numbers (five catches for 17 yards), but no one really did since the contest was played in the middle of a blizzard. Still, his performance was enough to help New England sneak away with an ugly 10-7 victory over the Broncos this weekend.

Sunday was the third time that Diggs has played in a conference championship during his NFL career, as he appeared in one when he was with Minnesota and another during his stint with the Buffalo Bills. Unlike the previous two opportunities, however, the veteran receiver was on the winning end of the scoreboard when the game concluded this weekend.

Stefon Diggs not the only former Minnesota Vikings player representing the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl

In addition to Diggs, there are multiple former Vikings who are also on New England's roster this season.

Longtime Minnesota starting center Garrett Bradbury signed with the Patriots earlier this year after the Vikings cut him, and although his performance hasn't even been at a Pro Bowl level this season, he still has to feel good about making it further than the team that gave up on him last March.

The artist formerly known as The Passtronaut, Josh Dobbs, has also been serving as New England's No. 2 quarterback behind Drake Maye this season. Dobbs provided Minnesota with some magic in 2023, but now he'll be helping Maye prepare for the biggest stage in professional sports.

Vederian Lowe and Khyiris Tonga also had some recent stints in purple and will now get to suit up for the Patriots in this season's Super Bowl.

The Vikings obviously won't be playing in the big game this year, but that doesn't mean there won't be anyone for fans to root for in the matchup.
