There is little debate that the NFC North is the best division in the NFL. With all four teams in the division having a winning record, competition for the Minnesota Vikings are hot on the heels of their 5-0 record.

The Vikings had a bye in Week 6, but the NFC North continued their dominating ways by blowing out their opponents on their way to dominating victories. But the question has to be asked how the teams stack up against each other.

Minneosta Vikings still No. 1 despite Week 6 bye

1. Minnesota Vikings

Record: 5-0
Week 6 result: Bye

Until the Vikings lose a game, they will sit atop the NFC North. Being undefeated with big wins over the New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers, and New York Jets places the purple and gold among the elite teams in the league.

They face a huge challenge in Week 6 when they face off against the Detroit Lions, a team with few weaknesses that can be a gigantic issue for any opponents. A loss to Detroit could shake up these rankings in Week 7.

2. Detroit Lions

Record: 4-1
Week 6 result: Win @ Cowboys 47-9

Week 6 saw the Detroit Lions humiliate the Dallas Cowboys on the road. In a game that never seemed competitive, it was the Lions' defense that forced five takeaways and sacked quarterback Dak Prescott four times.

The win for Detroit was a costly one. Premier edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson suffered a gruesome leg injury that will end his 2024 season. At the time of his injury, he was leading the league in sacks with 7.5.

3. Green Bay Packers

Record: 4-2
Week 6 result: Win vs Cardinals 34-13

Jordan Love is the real deal and the young Packers receivers are explosive and dynamic enough to take pressure off running back Josh Jacobs. They made Arizona look like they didn't belong in the NFL by dominating the time of possession and drawing over 13 penalties for 100 yards.

The Packers offense gets a lot of credit, but their defense is strong as well. Green Bay had a nose for the football in Week 6, recovering three Cardinals fumbles and allowing only 16 total first downs in the game.

Week 7 matchup: vs. Houston Texans

4. Chicago Bears

Record: 4-2
Week 6 result: Win vs. Jaguars 35-16

The Chicago Bears have a winning record but their resume includes wins over some teams that aren't very good. Beating up on the Titans, Rams, Panthers, and Jaguars isn't impressive, but you can only play the teams that appear on your schedule.

Chicago needs to beat some good teams to enter the conversation of being a good team. They will have a chance to do that against the Commanders, a team on top of the NFC East thanks to dynamic rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.
