Back in 2022, when the Minnesota Vikings officially hired Kevin O'Connell to be the team's new head coach, one of the first things Justin Jefferson wanted to know from the former Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator was how he was able to get Cooper Kupp so wide open all the time.

Well, Jefferson might actually get to experience watching Kupp get open in practice every day in the near future, as the veteran receiver revealed on Monday that the Rams told him they are looking to trade him elsewhere.

With Kupp's past success with O'Connell, Minnesota should definitely be viewed as one of the favorites to land him this offseason.

Acquiring Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp would help the Minnesota Vikings if Jordan Addison gets suspended

In addition to just still being a solid wide receiver, Kupp would also be a good option for the Vikings to have on their roster early in the 2025 season if Addison ends up getting suspended for the first few games.

Addison was arrested last July for an alleged DUI in Los Angeles, and some believe the NFL will hand him a suspension regardless of whether or not he is found guilty.

So, if he is unable to suit up for Minnesota's first few games next season, opening up the schedule with Jefferson and Kupp as the team's top two receivers would still give the Vikings offense a very talented pass-catching duo.

Is Kupp the same player who won the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year in 2021? No, but he's still averaged more than 65 catches, 750 receiving yards, and five touchdown receptions in his last three seasons.

He still has plenty left in the tank, and if the price to acquire him isn't too steep, then it's safe to say that O'Connell and Jefferson would love to have him in Minnesota for the 2025 season.
