Offensive Players

Nate Burleson - WR

After the Vikings selected him in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft, Nate Burleson spent the first three seasons of his NFL career in Minnesota. Then during the 2006 offseason, Burleson signed a lucrative contract with the Seahawks. He remained in Seattle for a total of four years.

Percy Harvin - WR

Following a dynamic rookie season with the Vikings in 2009 that resulted in him winning the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, Percy Harvin eventually forced his way out of Minnesota in 2013. The Vikings traded Harvin to the Seahawks during the 2013 offseason (even though Rick Spielman had "no intention" to do so), and he was never the same player he was when he wore purple and gold.

Steve Hutchinson - OG

After earning two First-Team All-Pro selections in his first five NFL seasons as a member of the Seahawks, Steve Hutchinson landed a rich contract from Minnesota during the 2006 offseason. Hutchinson went on to earn three additional First-Team All-Pro selections during his six years with the Vikings, and his performance ultimately resulted in him being voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020.

Tarvaris Jackson - QB

Minnesota had hopes of Tarvaris Jackson becoming the franchise's next great quarterback when they selected him in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft. But Jackson wasn't able to ever live up to his expectations during his tenure with the Vikings, and in 2011, he signed a two-year deal to play for Seattle.

Warren Moon - QB

Acquired by Minnesota in 1994 after a trade with the Houston Oilers, Warren Moon threw for over 4,200 yards in each of his first two seasons with the Vikings. But he wound up getting benched in 1996, and after refusing to take a pay cut, Minnesota released him in 1997. Luckily for Moon, the Seahawks were willing to add him to their roster, and he spent the 1997 campaign in Seattle.

Adrian Peterson - RB

The Vikings' all-time leader in career rushing yards wound up with the Seahawks in the middle of the 2021 season. Adrian Peterson's Week 13 appearance in 2021 with Seattle is still the last time he's been on an NFL field for a meaningful snap.

Sidney Rice - WR

No single player might have benefited more from Brett Favre signing with the Vikings in 2009 than Sidney Rice. Rice exploded for 1,312 yards and eight touchdowns during the 2009 season, and his future in Minnesota seemed extremely bright. But an injury lessened his impact in 2010 and he wound up signing with the Seahawks in 2011, where he spent the final three years of his NFL career.

Mike Tice - TE

Yes, before he was roaming the sidelines with a pencil tucked behind his ear as the head coach of the Vikings, Mike Tice had an actual NFL playing career. Tice spent the first eight years of his career in Seattle from 1981 to 1988 and then he had a second stint with the Seahawks from 1990 to 1991. The former Minnesota head coach spent the final three seasons of his playing career the Vikings after signing with them in 1992.
