Matchup No. 2

Jordan Addison vs. Avonte Maddox

In last season's matchup between the Vikings and Eagles, Philadelphia cornerback Darius Slay was a one-man wrecking crew. He snagged two interceptions against Kirk Cousins at crucial points in the game, killing any chances Minnesota had at a win.

Cousins seemed too reliant on Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson in the game, and with Slay covering Jefferson, the Minnesota quarterback forced some passes that were doomed from the start. This is exactly why the Vikings drafted Jordan Addison.

Addison got his feet wet in his first career game with a nice 4-61-1 stat line this past Sunday. Minnesota will need him to step up again in Week 2, as the team can't have Cousins forcing passes to Jefferson with such a premier corner on him like Slay.

The Eagles will (likely) be without their No. 2 cornerback, James Bradberry, on Thursday, offering an easier matchup for Addison to hopefully take advantage of. Avonte Maddox is no slouch himself, but there is certainly a talent dip between him and Bradberry.
