Reason No. 2

Dalton Risner is here to save the day

Throughout the offseason and through the first two weeks of the season, Vikings fans were begging general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah to sign former Denver Broncos guard Dalton Risner. Then, just over a week ago, their wish came true, and Minnesota announced the signing of Risner.

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell announced this week that Risner has been seeing first-team reps in practice at both left guard and right guard, as well as center.

However, don't expect Risner to see much action, if any, at center on Sunday, with Garrett Bradbury expected to return from his back injury.

If Risner is going to see any significant playing time this weekend, it would be malpractice by O'Connell to have him play anywhere other than right guard.

Most Minnesota fans can agree that the team's current starting right guard, Ed Ingram, is just awful, and Risner's presence alone should make the Vikings' offensive line much better.
