Despite a poor start to the season, the Minnesota Vikings have constructed a perfect situation to add one of the top rookie quarterbacks in 2024.

The Minnesota Vikings have set themselves up with the ideal situation if a rookie quarterback were to take the reigns in 2024. Regardless of where you stand on the Kirk Cousins debate, the Vikings are probably gearing up for a fresh start.

Sure, Minnesota has not had a great start to the season, and Cousins is one of the reasons why they have been able to remain competitive. But given his age and the standing of the roster, the time is now to get a young quarterback to ride into the future.

Building a strong roster for a rookie quarterback is challenging because landing one of the best passers in the draft typically requires a poor record and, therefore, a weak roster. For the Vikings - and an absolutely loaded 2024 NFL Draft class - the case is much different.

There are quarterbacks ranging from the top of the first round and even into Day 2 that could slide right in and start for this team while not having many obstacles along the way. Even if the team is super competitive in the first year with a new quarterback, they are built to acclimate a young gunslinger into the NFL.

There has never been a better time for Minnesota to move on from Cousins and let a new face of the franchise take hold of the offense.
