Candidate No. 1: Calvin Avery - DL

In a position group that is less than impressive, there is a chance for a few interior defensive linemen to stand out amongst the bunch. 2023 UDFA defensive lineman Calvin Avery could take training camp by storm over the next couple of months.

Avery is a massive human being, tipping the scales at 343 pounds, and although he isn't the tallest defensive lineman, standing at only 6-foot-1, he clogs holes like there is no tomorrow. You may look at Avery and be unimpressed with the numbers, but that is not Avery's game.

Avery makes his money taking on blockers and opening up gaps for pass rushers. With Minnesota's starting interior offensive line ranking towards the bottom of the league in basically everything, Avery could make a name for himself quite quickly going up against this unit this summer.
