D.J. Wonnum - OLB

Once a year, D.J. Wonnum shines bright and looks like a threat off the edge, and that usually comes in a matchup with the Bears. In the first meeting this season, Wonnum was back to that version of himself and opened the game with a sack on Justin Fields to set the tone.

Marcus Davenport had been playing well, but he left with an injury once again, which is going to force someone else to step up off the edge. Danielle Hunter cannot be the only pass rusher on the roster that can constantly get into the quarterback's lap.

Minnesota desperately needs D.J. Wonnum to ride the momentum and turn in a handful of pressures over the next few weeks. Wonnum is in a contract year and has yet to prove that he is worth returning beyond this season.

The final 11 games of this season will be important for his NFL career, and if he cannot flip a switch, it will also be a rough stretch for the Vikings defensively. He needs to produce at a much higher clip than he has, but Sunday was a nice start.
